Darren was called to a property in Wimbledon after concerns were raised about whether the foul and surface-water drainage had been connected correctly.

This wasn’t simply a blocked drain that needed clearing. The important thing was to establish where the drains actually went before anybody started carrying out unnecessary work.

Darren carried out a CCTV survey from the last inspection chamber and traced the drainage downstream. During his investigation he located another chamber marked “S” and “F”, for surface and foul drainage. This indicated there could be a combined sewer arrangement and that further investigation with Thames Water was required before deciding what work, if any, needed doing.

Darren recorded the CCTV footage and reported his findings, giving the builder and customer proper information to work from.

Instead of guessing at what was happening underground, we investigated it first. The customer could then make an informed decision based on what we had actually found.
