Why You Might Need This Service
Most of our customers call us for this service when they are making changes to their property. You might need us if:
- You are building an extension: The existing drains are in the way of your new foundations.

- The old system is broken: Your pipes are made of old materials (like pitch fibre) that have collapsed and need replacing with modern plastic.

How We Do It: Our Installation Process
We don’t just dig a hole and hope for the best. We follow a professional, structured process to ensure your new drains work perfectly for decades.
1. Assessment & Planning – Before we pick up a shovel, we need a plan. We use CCTV surveys and mapping tools to check your existing levels and layout. This ensures we design a system with the correct slopes (gradients) so water flows away smoothly.
2. Excavation – We dig the trenches carefully, using machinery where possible or hand-digging in tight spots. We always plan around your existing utilities (like gas and electric) and foundations to keep everything safe.
3. Installing the New Pipes – We install high-quality pipework (usually uPVC or clay) along with:
- New manholes and inspection chambers.
- Gullies and silt traps.
- Rodding points (for easy future cleaning).
- Connections to the main sewer or private systems (like septic tanks).
4. Diverting Existing Drains – If a pipe is in the way of your new conservatory or kitchen extension, we “divert” it. This means we re-route the pipe around the new structure so it continues to flow correctly without clashing with your building work.
5. Testing & Reinstatement – Once the pipes are down, we test them to prove they are watertight and flowing correctly. Then we fill the trenches back in.
- External: We reinstate surfaces like tarmac, slabs, gravel, or turf.
- Internal: For indoor work, we finish floors to a screed or concrete level, ready for your flooring contractors to lay the final carpet, tiles, or wood.
6. Handling the Paperwork – Drainage work often involves red tape. We are happy to liaise with Building Control, Structural Engineers, and local Water Authorities to ensure everything is signed off and compliant (if required).
