Our No-Dig Services
We offer a range of trenchless solutions depending on whether you need to fix a drain or install a new water pipe.
1. Drain Lining (CIPP – Cured-in-Place Pipe) – The “New Pipe Inside an Old Pipe” Solution. If your drain is cracked or leaking, we insert a specialist resin sleeve into the pipe. We inflate it and let it harden, creating a tough, waterproof new pipe inside the damaged one.
Best for: Cracks, fractures, leaks, and preventing tree roots returning.
2. Moling – The Tunneling Solution for Water Mains. Need a new water supply pipe? Instead of digging a trench from the street to your house, we dig a small pit every 10m or so and use a pneumatic “mole” to tunnel underground between them. We then pull the new pipe through the tunnel.
Best for: Replacing lead water pipes or installing new water supplies under driveways and lawns
3. Pitch Fibre Re-Rounding – The Reshaping Solution. Many older homes have Pitch Fibre pipes that deform and blister over time. We use a specialist tool to restore the pipe back into its original round shape from the inside, before lining it to lock it in place.
Best for: Squashed or blistered drainage pipes (common in 1950s – 1970s builds).
4. Milling & Root Cutting – The Internal Heavy-Duty Clean. While technically a cleaning method, this is a vital part of the no-dig process. We use robotic cutters to grind away concrete, heavy scale, or tree roots from inside the pipe to prepare it for lining.
Best for: Removing hard obstructions without excavation.
When Is No-Dig the Best Option?
We recommend trenchless methods whenever possible, especially if:
- The pipe runs under a surface you don’t want disturbed.
- The pipe is damaged but hasn’t completely collapsed.
- You want to avoid the cost and mess of reinstatement (re-paving/concreting).
A Note on Honesty: No-dig technology is amazing, but it can’t fix everything. If a pipe has fully collapsed or is crushed flat, or there are multiple underground services which are at risk of being damaged by moling, we may still need to excavate. However, if we can save it without digging, we always will.
