Phil, one of our tanker drivers, was called to a property in Rough Road, Woking, after the customer reported drainage problems and thought their treatment plant probably needed emptying.
Phil emptied the treatment plant, but while on site he noticed something else. In his report, he raised concerns that surface water and roof water were finding their way into the treatment plant. Although the plant was still working at the time, continued additional surface water entering the system would inevitably cause disruption.
Gerry then visited the property to investigate further and confirmed Phil’s suspicions. The inspection chamber serving the roof and surface water led to a soakaway which had collapsed and was no longer dispersing the water properly.
Rather than repeatedly emptying the treatment plant without dealing with the underlying cause, we were able to identify where the unwanted water was coming from. The surface-water inspection chamber was eventually diverted to a new system designed to disperse the roof and surface water separately, taking that unnecessary load away from the treatment plant.
The result: the customer’s treatment plant could continue doing the job it was designed to do, while the roof and surface water had their own proper routes for disposal.
