Top Tip for private sewage systems - rainwater ingress

It's important to make sure that surface water is not draining into your private sewage system via gaps in the inspection chamber surround or cracks in the chamber walls. 

Specially designed waterproof lids can keep out rainwater ingress, even when the manhole lid is flush with ground level.
