Main Sewer Connections
Connection to main sewer or sewage treatment plant?: what should you do?
Can you actually be connected to a main public sewer? You need to check the rules - before doing anything!
The first thing is to check that there actually is a main public sewer drain within the range set down by the ‘general binding’ rules (from January 2020).
Or get us to check for you, by contacting the local water authority on your behalf and seeing if the mains system is close enough, and if there is enough ‘fall’ to the main sewer.
Even if there isn’t, you might still be able to connect by using a pumping station to compensate.
If you would like us to put these checks in motion call us on 0800 181 684 and we'll find out what's what.
So whatever you’re planning – sewer connection, septic tank or small sewage treatment plant – we will save you money by checking everything out before you do anything.
And we will save you the risk of the authorities discovering information and possibly issuing you with a prohibition order to discontinue your system.
